Walk 1 - Gelert's Grave and Afon Glaslyn

Secluded monastic retreat and Victorian resort

The name Beddgelert means Gelert's grave. The village was put on the tourist map by a nineteenth century entrepreneur, David Pritchard, who was the first landlord of the Royal Goat Hotel.
