2009 looks set to be a busy year for West Snowdonia and Llŷn. Here are a few tasters of what’s in store…..

July 15th Seasonal cookery workshop at Hafod y Llan supported by Hybu Cig Cymru

As part of the National Trust’s Food Glorious Food campaign, we will be holding a series of 4 seasonal cookery workshops. The second of these will be at Hafod y Llan Farm starting at 7.00pm. Elen Roberts of Hybu Cig Cymru will be tempting the taste buds with local Summer dishes for you to try out at home. Cost £4.00 to include refreshments.

August 3rd   Gold panning at Gannllwyd

Join our Warden on the beautiful Dolmelynllyn estate and pan for your own Welsh gold. A great experience for all ages. Meet at the NT car park in  Ganllwyd at 1.00pm. Cost £2.50 for adults, £1.50 children Equipment provided.

August 3rd and 17th Sandsculpture Competition -Pothoer

From sand seamonsters to sand speedboats - bring your bucket and spade and join in the fun.  All ages. Start at 1pm Price £1

August 4th and 18th Sandsculpture Competition - Porthdinllaen

From sand seamonsters to sand speedboats - bring your bucket and spade and join in the fun.  All ages. Start at 1pm on 4th and 2pm on 18th Price £1

August 5th and 19th Sandsculpture Competition - Llanbedrog

From sand seamonsters to sand speedboats - bring your bucket and spade and join in the fun.  All ages. Start at 2pm Price £1

August 13th Summer Wild Child event at Craflwyn

Get down and dirty with the National Trust! A day of activities aimed at getting young people and their families to make the most of their natural surroundings. From orienteering to outdoor bread making there’ll be something for everyone ! Activities start at 11.00 am and run until 4.00pm. Cost £1.00 (to include raffle ticket)

September 29th   Seasonal Cookery event in Cwrt supported by Aberdaron Seafood ltd.

As part of the National Trust’s Food Glorious Food campaign, we will be holding a series of 4 seasonal cookery workshops. The third of these will be at the Ship Inn Aberdaron starting at 7.00pm. Local chef Marco Felipe will be tempting the taste buds with local Autumnal seafood dishes for you to try out at home. Cost £4.00 to include refreshments

October 30th Halloween Supper at Canolfan Deilen Las

Halloween for the grown ups! Scare yourself with an evening of scary stories as told by story teller…. . Followed by a seasonal supper of Welsh  sausage and mash and washed down by a glass of local Purple Moose beer. All tickets £15.00 or £13 if in fancy dress

October 31st Halloween Fun Day at Ty Isaf in Beddgelert village

Come along and join in with our family Halloween Fun Day. Children and adults alike will enjoy our day of traditional Halloween games and crafts at Ty Isaf in the village of Beddgelert. Cost £1.00 (to include raffle ticket)

November 21st Family Open day at Egryn

A chance to visit this beautiful old manor house and find out how Victorian families would have prepared for Christmas. Join our staff for a day of activities and discovery. Price to be published.

November 28th / 29th Craflwyn Christmas Fair

Following the success of last year’s fair we have decided to hold another! Make your Christmas as sustainable as possible by supporting local trade. Visitors will find a range of high quality crafts and food stuffs for the festive season. Entry £1.00 (to include raffle ticket).
