2010 looks set to be a busy year. Here are a few tasters of what’s in store…..
June 26th - Egryn Open Day

July 8th , August 12th , September 2nd Goldmine Walk - Ganllwyd
You will be guided up the mountainous pastures of the estate and see the remains of the 18th Century Goldmines, before returning past the Black Falls, having heard of the significance and historic importance of these sites during the journey, by the experienced guides.
Departing from Ganllwyd Car Park (grid reference: SH727 244 - LAND RANGER 124), at 7:00pm prompt. It will last no more than 2½ hours, and is open to all ages, however participants need to be aware of quite steep and rough paths along the walk, and should bring suitable footwear and clothing.
Each walk will cost £3 for adults (over 16 years) and £2 for children. A raffle will also be available in the car park before embarking.

Throughout the Summer we will be holding a series of sand sculpture competitions on the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. Why not come along and give your artistic side a chance to shine ? Price £2.00 per team.
Guided Walks in the Nant Gwynant Valley Every Thursday from July 22 to August 26
Start time 13:00 (lasting 2-3 hours)
Please bring appropriate hiking clothes and refreshments.

Walk 1:
Level: moderate
Duration 1.5-2 hours
Start point: Hafod y Llan farm
Details:
Join us for a walk around the lower parts of the farm to discuss the various factors influencing decisions on a conservation hill farm. We’ll walk along a stretch of the Glaslyn river, as well as Nant Gwynant lake, where wildflowers and trees are of high conservation value. On our return through the farm’s fields and woodlands, we will take a look at the impact the sheep, cattle, and feral goats have on these habitats.

Walk 2:
Level: moderate (steep climbs involved)
Duration 2.5-3 hours
Start point: Craflwyn car park
Details:
This will be an afternoon about woodland and heathland management, with a bit of storytelling thrown in. Come learn about the Rhododendron invasion and clear up, see how it is done and what the results are, 10 years on. We’ll also enter into extensive heather heathland and compare its values with adjacent grassland sites. Throw in a few sheep and feral goats, and the ancient legend of Dinas Emrys, and you are set for a great afternoon on the mountains.

Level: moderate-difficult (minimal trails used in parts)
Duration about 3 hours
Start point: Hafod y Llan farm
Details:
Join us for an afternoon of hiking up and down a couple of the farm’s less visited streams and rivers. We’ll follow a stream up into the hanging bog of Bylchau Terfyn and discuss conservation grazing using sheep and cattle to restore bog and heathland habitats. Then, we’ll cut across the farm and climb up into open pine and oak woodlands where we will talk about woodland management, the farm’s objectives, and how to achieve these with sheep, cattle, feral goats, and….pigs?

A chance to discover the secrets of this beautiful stretch of coastline. Join our Warden to learn about the rich history of this unique landscape and its people . Time 11:00 am Price £1.50
August 18th - Wild Child Craflwyn
Get down and dirty with the National Trust! A day of activities aimed at getting young people and their families to make the most of their natural surroundings. From orienteering to outdoor bread making, there’ll be something for everyone. Activities start at 11:00 am and run until 4:00 pm. Price Children £2:50, adults free. 16th Sepmeber - Llyn Boat Trips
A chance to see National trust properties from a whole new angle!
2 sailings per day. Visitors are asked to arrive at either 10:00 am or 1:00 pm, parking in Cwrt. Prices to include guide, cream tea and sandwiches .

Following the success of last year’s fair we have decided to hold another! Make your Christmas as sustainable as possible by supporting local trade. Visitors will find a range of high quality crafts and food stuffs for the festive season.
