HERYRI                                    Cymraeg

We are a new youth initiative by the National Trust in Eryri that aims to foster personal development and a respect for the environment through creative and physical activities in a mountainous setting.

We are presently based in the heart of Eryri (Welsh for Snowdonia) at the National Trust property Craflwyn, Beddgelert in the north of Wales

Facts about Eryri

'Eryri National Park covers 823 square miles (about 10% of Wales’ landmass) of exceptionally beautiful, mountainous countryside in the north of Wales.

25,682 people live in Eryri (alongside 100,000 sheep). If all the babies were on laps everyone would fit into the bottom tier of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

There are 1487 miles of public footpaths within Eryri which if laid end to end would get to the Russian border.

Around 10 million visitor days are spent within Eryri every year.' Source: Eryri National Park

The National Trust cares for approximately 23 square miles (or 7666 football pitches) in Eryri including 11 of the area’s peaks and miles of paths, coasts and woodlands
